Before the release of “Find Candance”, Venetian Snare’s latest album, came this strange release: a 3″CD with a single 15 minute track packed in a box with a gimmick picture-viewer. Sold for the price of a full album. Is it worth it? Definitely, yes.
“AGAFMV&STAYCI” (for short) is one hell of a breakcore/drill’n’bass track with definite club potential in industrial and d’n’b dance-floors (even if it might be too hardcore to be completely played in a d’n’b situation). Extremely well-crafted and composed, it begins as simple, almost melodic, beat structures, and gradually evolves into a rather aggressive and extremely complex rhythmic composition to finally explode in a sharp crescendo of speed, complexity and aggression. It may be just me, but there is probably something sexual about this track.
As mentioned, the only caveat for this release might be the hefty price tag for a single 15 minute track. However, considering a lot of the crap that is being sold out there, it’s worth paying, even if after listening to it one might end up thinking “was that it?” (hint: press the “Play” button again).
