This is a piece bought more or less at random during Maschinenfest. Wanting to acquire as many works by participating bands as possible when on a limited budget made this split-CD by Panacea, Needle Sharing and Tarmvred almost a no-brainer choice.
In nine tracks, each of the three participating projects showcases its talent at music construction using their own sound material as well as sound material provided by the other two projects.
Knowing the tendencies and sonorities of the projects involved, one might expect the overall result to be somewhat imbalanced but this does not happen, at least not more than in a good music compilation.
One of the merits of this album, is that it allows a glimpse into what each of these projects is capable when working the sonorities of the others and retaining their project identity, unequivocally showing that a good music project is not defined by its base sound material but by the way it is worked.
While it cannot be said to be a typical recording for any of the projects involved, and definitely not the best way of knowing what each project actually sounds like, “Panacea Shares Needles With Tarmvred” is a great showcase of talent which is worth checking at least for curiosity.
