All in all, “Avenger” is easily one of the must-have albums of 2011, ready to take on the newfound mainstream interest as well as keep the older followers of Hecq’s work pleased. Highly recommended.

Architect – Upload Select Remix
For “Upload Select Remix” Daniel Myer invited some friend projects to make a review of a track from the ravishing “Consume Adapt Create”. Definitely a remix CD appealing to those who already know the original release, or for those who haven’t discovered it yet and are in need of extra motivation.
Karsten Pflum – No Noia My Love
Karsten Pflum presents “No Noia My Love”, which showcases a wide range of electronic styles. Classified as mellow electronic dance music, each track seamlessly flows into the next, so that the entire album comes together as a single, cohesive piece. This is a strong release from an artist I was previously not at all familiar with.
Nebulo – Artefact
At each crossroads you can find the beauty meeting the beast, and pleasant whispers suddenly pierced by incredible roughness. The world enters a new era with so many artefacts within an artefact that itself deserves to be excavated with special care.
Slew52 – Catalog
Overall, “Catalog” is a fine album, as long as the second disc is considered as bonus material, a glance into a different side of the artist but not an integral part of the record. The tracks found on the first disc are enough to please anyone craving good electronic music, provided you don’t mind the smattering of genres.
Millipede – Powerless
The very fibers of “Powerless” are just soaked in misery of the most pedestrian kind. This isn’t misery you can tap into and feel – whilst this release does try hard, the emotional content seems somewhat lacking, or hard to connect with.
Abs6 – Audiomedikation
“Audiomedikation” is one of those albums that is deceiving at first due to its slow start, but it gets heavier, the rhythms more interesting and the album really does flow amazingly well.
Jerôme Chassagnard – The Time from Underneath
This is an album that needs to be heard as an album. The way the tracks work together, it would be hard to separate them and it has an almost Kraftwerk-like sound to it. There’s also resemblance to early Future Sound of London and even some Sven Väth throughout the entire album.
